ImportQIF - 2.5.9.0 VERSION RELEASED
Experimental, limited support added for importing investment transactions through CSV/Excel format.
I would like to have feedback if you use this feature. What works? What doesn’t? What would you like to see? Would you be willing to supply example data? Thanks.
Support added for a "transaction type" column where the sign of the amount is dependent on the value in the transaction column. Like the column might have "debit" and so the amount should be made negative. Mint CSV exported data is like this.
Support added to read XLS/XLSX (Excel) files(This part of the Advanced options, and requires Excel).
Support added to translate non US dates in QIF files to US dates (Note this is supported in the free part of the program)

The purpose of ImportQIF is to add the account name and type to a QIF
file so that it can be imported into a Quicken account register. With
this information added to the QIF, Quicken will allow bypassing the
current restrictions on what type of accounts Quicken will allow you to
import a QIF file into. The default is to register
ImportQIF as the default QIF file handler, so that when you open a QIF
from your web browser or Windows Explorer, ImportQIF will be run and you
can select one button to save the converted QIF to your desktop. This
part of this program is free for you to use as long as you like.
The newest version of ImportQIF adds the advanced features of automatically importing the converted QIF file into Quicken and also to convert from OFX (MS Money), CSV, XLS/XLSX (Excel) files into QIF files. Please note that at present conversions from OFX are not supported for investment accounts. Further more OFX to QIF conversion is not supported on liability accounts.
These new advanced features are not free. You can try them out during the 30 day trial period, but if you want to use them past that point you will have to purchase a license. If all you need is the original functionality that adds the account name and type to a QIF file for import into a Quicken account register, then you do not need to purchase a license. You purchase the license from a running copy of ImportQIF because it needs to generate a computer code for the configuration you want to register. The price is $15.00, Updated versions of ImportQIF are available at no extra charge. Please use the 30 day trial period to make sure ImportQIF is suitable for your needs. You can see how much longer you have in the trial period by selecting:
